Master Chief to Xbox One rescue in 2014
All this talk of specs, prices, and missed opportunities by Microsoft got me thinking; when Master Chief’s guns come a blazing, Xbox One will be selling like hot cakes. Gamers will always be about the games, and a Halo game is almost a national holiday for some. The lines stretching around buildings at a midnight launch will show the doubters that Xbox One is a contender for next generation champ.
Can you imagine a next generation Halo’s visuals? I can already hear the grunts running in fear of my Xbox One polygon counted pistol. The hardcore gamers are debating specs. So let’s talk games, and one the biggest console exclusives is undoubtedly Halo. Microsoft has probably given 343 a blank check to make the largest, prettiest, most mind blowing experience ever seen in a halo game; a Master Chief CGI trailer in real-time baby.
Halo is probably going to be the flagship game for the Xbox One. Taking full advantage of the DirectX 11.2 “tiled resources” feature means dynamic loading of tiles within hardware works better than previous software approaches. This gives us an Xbox that allows more efficient use of memory and a more detailed world for us to explore, with further draw distances and larger texture sizes without pop-in or load times.
In my opinion, Halo will be a blockbuster. We can talk about how expensive the Xbox One is, but Halo made the first Xbox and it will make the new one too.
