Stealthy Sunday: Selling Stealth

It’s not the easiest thing in gaming to sell stealth. Most consumers are attracted to high-octane action, grand fantasy, or lively party titles. In order to appeal to customers, companies have to carefully put together commercials and advertisements that will have everyone talking. Throughout the past, we’ve seen games go for comedy, action, sex, and just flat out coolness. So, this week, let’s take a look at a few of those advertisements that we’ve seen that have urged us to run out and buy.

Splinter Cell – PS2 Ad

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance – Xbox Ad

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Hitman: Absolution – UK Ad

Assassin’s Creed – Launch Ad in North America. Could only find in Italian.

Stealthy Sunday is a weekly column where we talk about all things around stealth gaming. From the latest games, to the annals of its history, we step out from the darkness to reveal the fascinating world of sleuthing, spying, and assassinating.
