Get ready to preform surgery in a whole new way. Surgeon Simulator 2013 will be making its way to the Oculus Rift, and it will be playable at this year’s Rezzed show, which is taking place this year. The game will also support the Razer Hydra, and it will be taking surgery to the next level of mayhem and creating the most immerse operating theater experience ever.
Surgeon Simulator has taken a lot of people by surprise, and has become a nothing short of a phenomenon. The original prototype – developed in just 48 hours at the 2013 Global Game Jam in January 13 – challenged players to complete a heart transplant using a combination of keyboard and mouse actions, armed only with an arsenal of clumsy and inappropriate tools and a hapless hand that was diabolical to control.
The Oculus Rift allows players to step into game, and it was a big hit at this year’s E3 especially with our very own Rickey Gibson. If you’re heading out to this year’s Rezzed, you might want to try it out. I can not wait to see what Surgeon Simulator will look like on it.
